Saw this show on the t.v. guide said awesome! click on it saw spiderman's spider symbol on his chest jump off screaming and my brain died.....
idk i liked it ultimate spiderman is a great show ...... for slitting my own wrist too. i agree tj this show sucks and its nothing the comic the name shares from
I could see the show working if it was deadpool, not spiderman.
I'm assuming the reasoning behind Ultimate Spider-Man's absurd amount of guest stars is less that they don't think Spidey is capable of holding his own in a cartoon, and more that Marvel's trying to shove as many of its franchises as it can into the eyeballs of their target demographic. Everyone knows Spider-Man, X-Men, and the Avengers thanks to some popular films, but Marvel's not going to gamble the absurd amount of money it'd take to get Nova into his own movie franchise (especially since he's basically Green Lantern, who's movie both sucked and was a rather large box-office failure). They want kids familiar with these characters, because they want to try and make as much merchandise out of their several thousand copyright protected intellectual properties as possible. Doing the rotating guest roster made sense in The Avengers, but the ratings for that show didn't work out like they wanted so here we have this garbage. Basically, they're using Spider-Man like a pimp. And as for Jeph Loeb- I cringed when I found out he was in charge of Marvel's animation and TV division. The man couldn't write his way out of a wet paper bag, God only knows what kind of havoc he's going to wreak with the shows he lords over.
The Ultimate Marvel Universe For Dummies! By Peter Parker AKA the ultimate Spider-Man. -_-
I didn't like this show at all. Spectacular Spiderman was Amazing though! :D
The more i think about it, the more Ultimate spiderman just seems to be Marvel's answer to Batman Brave and the Bold. I admit I liked the show at first but gave up after the Dr.Strange episode because the series just became too obnoxious for me. I will say this though: The first Venom episode is a great example of how good this show can be when they tone down the comedy a notch.
I liked Spectacular Spider-man too, but it wasn't taken off to be replaced with this. From what I remember it didn't do well in the ratings, and had a network change to deal with. Never good. Top that off with few networks carrying any cartoon for more then 3 seasons, and they were done with it. Same thing with Avengers: Earth Mightest vs. Avengers Assemble. Which you already know...hmmm...I admit Ultimate Spider-man is jarring. You come in expecting a Spider-man story, and essentially get Spider-man and the new Spider-gang, but I love seeing lesser known characters get a chance to shine. Though more importantly how many times can you retell the Peter Parker story, and keep it fresh? This is one of the things I like about Ultimate. Yeah it has fun with the entire Marvel Universe as its playground, and its humor isn't for everybody, but it isn't afraid to be different. Which is the heart of every great episode it has, and lead to some really great moments you wouldn't have if you limited yourself to just the Spiderverse. Like Wolverine freaking out in Peter Parkers body in High School, or the Wrecking Crew episode, or even the Beetle episodes.
I find it funny you said the Sinister Six was gonna be six seasons off when it's season 2, episode 7 :P
Technically Dr. Doom is a Spider Man villain. There was a time that Marvel tried to have Spidey take on all their major villains, back in the day when he was the sole star of Marvel. Once I stopped trying to relate the show to the Spider Man I know I grew to it a bit more.
This title should be renamed "Underwear SuperMan".
